Details
Substantial copper and brass anchor lantern of exceptional quality. In my 40-plus years as a marine antique dealer, I've never owned a more solid, well-made example. This lantern, dating back to the early 20th century, has seen very little use and remains in remarkable condition. It embodies the craftsmanship and durability of a premium ship's lantern.
British-made with a name tag reading Hugh Douglas, Walmley & L'Pool, Shipsmith, Boilermaker, Tinsmith, Sheet Iron Worker. The Fresnel lens marked C.B. & Co. LTD 9x7.
The oil font, burner, lampshade, and wick are complete, in excellent condition, and ready to use. Lightly tarnished, two barely noticeable small chips to the lens. One small ding to the upper right side.
Weight 25 lbs.
Measuring 26 1/2" tall with handle up, 22 1/2" tall, handle down.
Bottom diameter 10 1/4".
