Details
A Spanish Colonial antique Arma Christi shadowbox depicting Christ's crucifixion, surrounded by the "Weapons of Christ" or Instruments of the Passion. A remarkable Christian artwork, finely carved with numerous objects and symbols arranged around the central cross. Given the Latin text, highly structured peg construction, a massive single-piece hand-planed backboard, and unpainted natural-wood instruments, the construction points to an expert ecclesiastical workshop. This could be from a major Spanish Colonial cathedral center such as Mexico City or Manila.
This masterpiece of carving is 183 years old and can't be shipped with the usual shipping methods. Shipping will entail hand delivery or pickup here in Northern California.
