A remarkable Christian artwork, finely carved with numerous objects and symbols arranged around the central cross. Given the Latin text, highly structured peg construction, a massive single-piece hand-planed backboard, and unpainted natural-wood instruments, the construction points to an expert ecclesiastical workshop. This could be from a major Spanish Colonial cathedral center such as Mexico City or Manila.
