Details

Aneroid barometer issued by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) to aid fishermen and coastal communities in predicting changes in weather. Signed Dollond, London and first issued in August 1883. Dollond, along with Negretti and Zambra, were the primary suppliers known for their quality and reliability.

The RNLI was founded in 1824 and exists to save lives at sea.
