54-hour ship’s chronometer signed Whyte Thomson and Company, Maker to Admiralty,
144 Broomielaw, Glasgow.
Serial #4780, with auxiliary compensation.

Whyte worked at this location from 1887 to 1924. He gained his highest award in Edinburgh in 1886 and was also awarded a silver medal that same year.

The chronometer runs well. Please note that there is a minute chip to the edge of the glass between 9 and 10 o'clock.
