In the example on the left, we have a brass barometer-altimeter capable of measuring to 12,000 feet. Also in the leather case is a working compass and a previously damaged thermometer. I believe it is possible to have the thermometer repaired.

In the example to the right, we have a Short & Mason of London barometer-altimeter capable of measuring 8000 feet, housed in a red Moroccan leather case. Included in the case is a working Singer Patent dial compass. This compendium is missing its thermometer, and the closing clasp is worn and is having trouble locking.
